Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize Linux and Windows servers, including CentOS, Ubuntu, and Windows bare-metal systems, for performance, security, reliability, and scalability.
- Design and implement physical data-center networks, virtual networks, and cloud integrations for secure and reliable connectivity.
- Administer Fortinet firewalls, including firewall policies, VPN configurations, switching, routing, and intrusion prevention systems.
- Manage hardware configurations, operating-system updates, security patches, and troubleshooting for Windows bare-metal servers.
- Automate server provisioning, configuration, deployment, and patch management using Ansible and Shell scripting.
- Implement security measures across Linux, Windows, and network environments to meet internal and external compliance standards.
- Lead network design and infrastructure planning with cross-functional teams.
- Troubleshoot complex Linux, Windows, and firewall issues to improve system stability and reduce downtime.
- Develop and maintain incident-response processes and contingency plans for high availability and rapid recovery.
- Support infrastructure monitoring and incident management focused on uptime and availability.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience managing Linux and Windows systems, including CentOS and Ubuntu, with server patching, performance tuning, and optimization.
- Strong experience managing Fortinet firewalls, network security policies, VPNs, and threat-prevention controls.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Experience managing hybrid cloud systems and network security measures.
- Experience managing Windows bare-metal servers, including hardware, operating-system updates, patching, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Oracle, or SQL Server, including query optimization, backup, and recovery.
- Proficiency with Ansible and Shell scripting for server configuration, deployment, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of security best practices for Linux, Windows, and network infrastructure.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across multi-platform environments.
- Ability to work independently and proactively resolve technical challenges.
- Experience with infrastructure monitoring, incident management, uptime, availability, and recovery.
- Knowledge of virtualization, AWS, GCP, Cisco, and Juniper is a plus.
