Base Salary
$135k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, development, and maintenance of high-performance, scalable backend services for operational data and AI systems.
- Establish coding guidelines, participate in code reviews, and promote continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Build robust APIs for frontend developers and external systems, and integrate server-side logic with user-facing elements.
- Design efficient data structures and algorithms for large-scale, high-throughput data.
- Analyze and optimize applications for speed and scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve user workflows and provide cohesive experiences across product boundaries.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience designing, developing, leading, supporting, and maintaining live backend systems.
- In-depth understanding of data structures, system architecture, API development for microservices frameworks, distributed systems, and backend best practices.
- An engineering background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or a similar field.
- Strong coding skills and proficiency in languages such as Java, C++, Python, Rust, or similar languages.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to iterate quickly with teammates and incorporate feedback.
- Active US Security clearance, or eligibility and willingness to obtain one, is beneficial but not required.
