Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain real-time embedded software for Dyson digital motors and advanced control systems.
- Develop software for automated production testing, including motor production-line tuning and testing and power-electronics hardware testing.
- Document software requirements, design, and implementation.
- Perform embedded-software failure analysis and root-cause analysis for motor and drive/control-system failures.
- Plan and estimate development tasks and manage product backlog priorities.
- Facilitate stand-ups, planning meetings, and retrospectives.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders and report progress through meetings and documentation.
- Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and technical experts across multiple disciplines.
Requirements
- Degree in engineering or a numerate discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in a relevant industry.
- Experience with bare-metal microcontroller software development.
- Strong real-time embedded C programming skills and knowledge of MCU peripherals.
- Experience with software configuration management, source control, and continuous integration.
- Ability to plan and estimate development tasks.
- Strong communication, stakeholder collaboration, and documentation skills.
- Python programming experience is desirable.
- Experience with software verification strategies, including unit testing, is desirable.
- Knowledge of control systems and hardware development is desirable.
