Base Salary
$98k - $139k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain highly available, scalable, and performant infrastructure for Quora’s machine learning platform.
- Build and improve distributed systems that serve recommendation models and large language models in production.
- Optimize GPU model serving for latency, throughput, and cost.
- Contribute to PyTorch standardization and modernization of the ML ecosystem.
- Build tooling that helps ML engineers develop, test, and deploy models more efficiently.
- Modernize the feature store to accelerate getting new features into production.
- Participate in the team’s on-call rotation and help resolve production issues.
Requirements
- Be a 2025 or 2026 graduate with or pursuing a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Be available for meetings and impromptu communication during Quora’s Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Pacific Time coordination hours.
- Have a genuine interest in large-scale distributed systems, infrastructure, and machine learning.
- Know Python, Go, or C++, or be able to learn them quickly.
- Preferred qualifications include software engineering experience through internships, work experience, open-source contributions, or coding competitions.
- Preferred qualifications include coursework or hands-on experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Preferred qualifications include exposure to Kubernetes, Docker, or AWS and experience with profiling, benchmarking, or optimization.
