Responsibilities
- Develop virtual vehicle integration solutions and NX math modeling and criteria tools aligned with GM vehicle development processes and engineering standards.
- Build NXOpen applications, scripts, process automation tools, engineering rules, algorithms, constraints, and design-for-manufacturability workflows.
- Create custom NX interfaces using NXOpen UIStyler, Block UI, and Reuse Library dialogs.
- Develop and support NX/Teamcenter PLM integrations, external data exchanges, and connections to manufacturing systems.
- Collaborate with design, R&D, manufacturing, deployment, and sustain teams to prototype, validate, stabilize, and scale automation tools.
- Maintain code repositories, version control, technical documentation, developer standards, unit tests, code reviews, and defect resolution.
- Apply manufacturing, materials, GD&T, design-for-assembly, serviceability, parametric modeling, and downstream engineering principles to component and subsystem development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Professional experience using Siemens NX for production design, CAD modeling, virtual integration, or related engineering work.
- Experience with Teamcenter and VisMockup or comparable CAD/PLM environments.
- Hands-on experience with the NXOpen API and C# development.
- Experience developing CAD automation, process automation frameworks, or engineering productivity tools.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, GD&T, design for manufacturability, assembly, and serviceability.
- Experience with NX and Teamcenter PLM data, external data sources, collaborative engineering workflows, custom NX interfaces, and business logic.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, documentation, cross-functional collaboration, and adaptability to changing requirements.
- Preferred: five or more years of software development, IT, CAD automation, or combined NX design and automation experience.
- Preferred: experience with parametric design, coded or agentic manipulation of parametric templates, complex automotive or high-volume manufacturing components, unit testing, code coverage, Teamcenter ITK/RAC customization, CAD integration pipelines, manufacturing interfaces, GitHub, Jira, GPDL, Knowledge Fusion, CAE workflows, AI-assisted coding, or digital engineering data pipelines.
- A master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline is preferred.
