Responsibilities
- Bring up and implement sensor technologies for health-monitoring products.
- Collaborate with hardware teams on prototyping, efficient designs, and production-hardware implementation.
- Lead improvements to firmware development standards and tooling for testing and deployment.
- Work with the manufacturing team in China to develop tests and deliver high-quality products on time.
- Develop and maintain firmware deployed across the existing Pod fleet.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience focused on firmware in C/C++, with client or test tooling in Python or Node.js.
- Experience developing for compute-constrained and low-memory environments.
- Ability to create peripheral drivers and communication protocols including UART, I2C, SPI, and USB, with knowledge of DMA.
- Experience launching and maintaining large fleets of devices, monitoring telemetry, and performing OTA firmware updates.
- Ability to read and interpret hardware datasheets and schematics for hardware bring-up and debugging.
- Familiarity with logic analyzers and oscilloscopes.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly to China.
- Preferred experience with bare-metal systems, low-level task management, and environments without a traditional RTOS.
- Preferred expertise in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi communication standards, automated testing, observability, and embedded security practices.
