Responsibilities
- Define and drive the technical strategy for Ingress Security.
- Own the planning and execution of technical solutions for security and networking problems.
- Design, implement, and operate production-ready security services in Rust.
- Collaborate with Engineering leadership on roadmaps to improve security.
- Advise on engineering complexity, risk, and inter-project dependencies.
- Handle time-sensitive escalations and production incidents.
- Diagnose and fix bugs, performance regressions, and other defects.
- Interview candidates and help cultivate the team's talent.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience building production-quality systems software.
- Experience with large backend/compiled codebases, preferably in Rust.
- Strong systems fundamentals, including multi-threaded programming.
- Understanding of network protocols, TLS, and connection lifecycle management.
- Familiarity with security concepts like attack surface reduction and memory safety.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong mentorship skills and a passion for coaching peers.
- B.Sc. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
