Responsibilities
- Realize, maintain, and extend interfaces between hospital laboratory information systems, Vitestro’s venipuncture device, and online deployment services.
- Write routing, transformations, and system mappings for hospital-specific LIS integrations and maintain the Apache Camel gateway.
- Perform integration testing and production go-lives with hospital IT and laboratory staff.
- Implement error handling and automated testing for interfaces and manage varied APIs, data models, and network environments.
- Grow into ownership of device IoT and fleet capabilities, including provisioning, configuration, certificate lifecycle, update distribution, and health monitoring.
- Collaborate with cloud engineers, backend engineers, device software engineers, cybersecurity, and QA/RA teams.
- Potentially develop remote support tooling and internal IT integrations using n8n.
Requirements
- Background in software engineering or backend development with at least 3 years of experience building system integrations.
- Production experience with routing and transformation, mapping different data models, error handling, and automated interface testing.
- Java experience is preferred, with comparable depth in another JVM or backend language also welcomed.
- Working knowledge of REST APIs, including authentication, versioning, and error handling.
- Comfort with infrastructure as code using Terraform, OpenTofu, Pulumi, or AWS CDK.
- Basic understanding of mTLS, certificates, and secrets management, along with willingness to develop deeper expertise.
- Proficiency with Linux and scripting in Python or Bash.
- Ability to work clearly and effectively with hospital IT architects and laboratory managers to agree interfaces.
- Professional written and spoken Dutch and English.
- Preferred qualifications include Apache Camel, AWS fundamentals, regulated-industry software delivery, FHIR, AWS IoT, edge deployment, over-the-air updates, and experience commissioning hospital interfaces on site.
