Responsibilities
- Maintain the reliability, performance, and continuous availability of PhonePe’s fintech infrastructure and services.
- Implement IT operations best practices to support always-up, always-available services.
- Use open-source technologies, cloud services, automation, and configuration-management tools.
- Manage Linux/Unix systems, networking, databases, scripting, and private cloud environments.
- Participate actively in the on-call rotation and communicate effectively with the team.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of Linux/Unix administration experience, with extensive practical experience.
- Working knowledge of computer networking and Linux networking, including IP, iptables, and IPsec.
- Experience with open-source technologies, cloud services, IT operations, and private cloud environments.
- Experience working with MySQL; MariaDB and Percona experience is a plus.
- Coding and scripting skills, preferably in Perl, Python, or Golang.
- Experience with automation and configuration management using tools such as SaltStack.
- Effective English communication skills and willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.
- Preferred experience with KVM/QEMU, container orchestration, NoSQL databases such as Aerospike, Galera cluster operations, and data-center activities.
