Responsibilities
- Lead the architectural design and implementation of a modular, scalable Python codebase.
- Define software development standards, coding practices, and architectural frameworks.
- Collaborate with software, development, and engineering stakeholders to translate requirements into software architectures.
- Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to development teams.
- Oversee integration of software drivers with testing equipment and laboratory instrumentation.
- Design data capture, processing, analysis, and reporting solutions.
- Optimize communication and data-processing workflows between hardware, test equipment, and networked systems.
- Support troubleshooting, technical planning, risk management, and architectural reviews.
Requirements
- Extensive professional experience developing software in Python.
- Proven experience designing and implementing scalable, modular software architectures.
- Strong understanding of maintainability, extensibility, testability, and code quality principles.
- Experience defining development standards, coding guidelines, and software frameworks.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience mentoring developers and providing technical leadership.
- Understanding of software integration, data acquisition, and data processing systems.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant engineering field, or relevant technical military background with equivalent hands-on experience.
- Desirable experience integrating software with laboratory, testing, or measurement equipment.
- Desirable knowledge of communication protocols and hardware-device interfacing.
- Desirable experience with data-driven applications and automated testing environments.
- Familiarity with software controlling and acquiring data from oscilloscopes, analysers, or similar instrumentation.
- Background in engineering, testing, validation, or product development environments.
