Responsibilities
- Construct multi-agent AI systems that simulate, evaluate, decompose, and redesign spacecraft configurations using embedded physics models.
- Build infrastructure for high-context model training using flight data, simulations, and test results.
- Build and fine-tune LLMs and VLMs to parse technical documents into subsystem constraints and architecture schemas.
- Develop models that identify contradictions, inconsistencies, and gaps in requirements and suggest valid configurations or mitigations.
- Create multimodal training datasets from text, diagrams, system specifications, and configuration trees.
- Design formal representations of system architecture knowledge using schemas and graph-based topologies for supervision and traceability.
- Automate generation of interface tables, block diagrams, FMEAs, and verification specifications.
- Integrate models into Zenith’s payload-ingestion and system-decomposition pipelines for downstream design, simulation, and manufacturability agents.
- Collaborate with spacecraft engineers, systems architects, and test leads to ensure model outputs reflect real engineering practices and testable subsystem boundaries.
- Optionally support go-to-market work such as demos, customer-onboarding automation, and business-development tooling.
- Work with hardware engineers on systems tested in thermal chambers, vibration tables, and orbital missions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree, or final-semester status, in computer science, ML/AI, engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least two years of experience building advanced ML systems such as deep learning, reinforcement learning, planning, or LLM agent frameworks.
- Experience with ML/AI through research, personal projects, or internships beyond coursework.
- Strong Python proficiency and experience with modern ML and software tooling such as PyTorch, JAX, TensorFlow, LangChain, Ray, FastAPI, DVC, or Docker.
- Experience with vision-language models, constrained-optimization or control reinforcement learning, simulation-aware or physics-informed ML, surrogate modeling, document parsing, or knowledge-graph systems.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate across software and spacecraft teams.
- Hardware prototyping and debugging experience, including microcontrollers, sensors, or test rigs, is preferred.
- Familiarity with spacecraft concepts, astrodynamics, control systems, structured engineering artifacts, MBSE, spacecraft architecture tools, or aerospace subsystem allocation is preferred.
- Experience with Capella, CORE, internal tooling, technical clubs, project teams, or cross-disciplinary space or robotics efforts is preferred.
- Willingness to work extended hours or weekends when necessary for mission-critical deadlines is preferred.
