Base Salary
$130k - $195k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build security-critical AI agents that automate network and systems defense.
- Use AI to discover and fix security issues in Starshield infrastructure and systems.
- Guide and test AI integrations in new and existing Starshield systems.
- Identify opportunities to improve security through automation and AI.
- Maintain production systems and improve their security posture through implementation and recommendations to other teams.
- Work extended hours and weekends as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or another STEM discipline, or 2+ years of professional experience in security software development in lieu of a degree.
- Experience with one or more software development languages, such as Python, C++, or Golang.
- Preferred experience designing and building production software across backend services, data models and migrations, and modern web frontends.
- Preferred experience taking software from prototype to production with containerized Kubernetes deployment, CI pipelines, monitoring, and secure service connections.
- Preferred experience designing, prompting, and securing agents that perform long-running autonomous tasks.
- Preferred experience applying AI or machine learning to classification and decision problems involving malicious activity or inputs.
- Preferred experience designing AI systems that learn and improve over time.
- Preferred experience in identity, cryptography, network security, operating system security, detection, and monitoring.
- Active Top Secret, Top Secret SCI, or DOE Level Q clearance is preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance as a condition of employment.
- Clearance eligibility must satisfy the stated ITAR requirements or the applicant must be eligible to obtain required authorizations.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Benefits
- Base salary range is $130,000-$160,000 for Level 1 or $150,000-$195,000 for Level 2.
