Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical authority and trusted advisor for next-generation avionics software platforms.
- Define and own software architecture, engineering standards, and technical direction across multiple products and programs.
- Lead design and development of complex safety-critical software spanning embedded, platform, application, and cloud-connected technologies.
- Influence product strategy, technology roadmaps, and architectural decisions.
- Drive software quality through verification and validation strategies, test automation, and continuous integration practices.
- Collaborate with systems engineering, hardware, certification, cybersecurity, and user experience teams.
- Mentor senior and staff engineers and promote technical excellence.
- Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies, development methodologies, and engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
- 12+ years of software engineering experience developing complex, mission-critical products.
- Experience leading software architecture and technical decision-making for large-scale software systems.
- Experience owning software architecture.
- Experience developing embedded, real-time, distributed, or cloud-connected systems.
- Knowledge of avionics, aerospace, or other regulated industries developing safety-critical software.
- Expertise in modern software engineering practices including continuous integration, automated testing, and DevSecOps.
- Strong technical leadership, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to influence engineering strategy across teams and organizations.
- Must meet the stated U.S. Person or export-authorization eligibility requirement.
