Base Salary

$115k - $252k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement AI workflow platform cloud infrastructure in Azure IL-5 environments.
  • Architect containerized solutions using Azure Kubernetes Service or similar technologies with IL-5 security controls.
  • Design PostgreSQL data architectures, API gateways, authentication and authorization frameworks, service meshes, and cross-boundary integrations.
  • Integrate Azure OpenAI, ServiceNow APIs, DISA BCAP connections, AI development tools, RAG pipelines, vector databases, and agentic workflows.
  • Establish monitoring, logging, alerting, model versioning, A/B testing, automated retraining, drift detection, data-quality monitoring, disaster recovery, and business continuity practices.
  • Troubleshoot integrations across Azure, ServiceNow, and government networks while optimizing platform scalability and cost.
  • Help build and lead an AI/ML engineering team, participate in screening and onboarding, conduct design reviews, and establish engineering standards.
  • Translate government mission requirements into technical solutions, develop prototypes and proof-of-concepts, and define AI workflow success metrics.
  • Establish QA frameworks covering model, integration, and user acceptance testing and oversee AI output quality.
  • Support DoD compliance, ATO and accreditation activities, STIGs, IL-5 requirements, CUI handling, and data classification controls.

Requirements

  • US citizenship and eligibility for a DoD Secret clearance and required background checks are required; an active DoD clearance is preferred.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience are required; a relevant bachelor's degree may substitute for 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience converting real-world use cases into deployable AI/ML solutions and working directly with customers.
  • Strong expertise in Azure cloud services including AI Foundry, DevOps, PostgreSQL, API Management, and networking.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, containerization, microservices architectures, and virtual machines.
  • Deep knowledge of LLM technologies, RAG architectures, vector databases, and prompt engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, or comparable AI/ML frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of API design, integration patterns, enterprise service buses, workflow orchestration, and business process automation.
  • Experience with MLOps practices and tools, including model versioning, monitoring, and CI/CD for machine learning.
  • Proficiency in Python or other languages commonly used in AI development.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Preferred qualifications include an active Secret clearance, Top Secret eligibility, Azure Government or AWS GovCloud experience, DoD compliance knowledge, DISA network architecture experience, ATO experience, and ServiceNow integration, Flow Designer, or development experience.
