Responsibilities
- Monitor alerts and respond to incidents while meeting or exceeding SLAs, SLOs, and SLIs.
- Perform root cause analysis and create postmortems to improve incident response and system stability.
- Automate repetitive tasks and maintain monitoring, logging, observability, and operational processes.
- Guide Product, Platform, and Software Engineering stakeholders on supportability, scalability, and efficiency.
- Administer platform infrastructure, oversee change management, and contribute to product roadmaps and strategies.
- Coordinate vendor management and ensure processes and tools are ready for proofs of concept, pilots, and go-live.
- Drive observability implementations, incident response, feedback loops, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Proficiency in automation scripting with Python, Bash, or PowerShell and experience writing SQL queries.
- Strong IT operations and system administration background, including ticketing systems such as SNOW, Linux/Unix environments, and cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of network components and protocols, database management, and incident response methodologies.
- Experience with monitoring metrics, platform diagnostics, and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
- Understanding of ITIL service management practices, the software development lifecycle, and modern application development concepts.
- Ability to assess operational KPI impacts, recommend improvements, debug and optimize code, and communicate technical information to business stakeholders.
- Preferred familiarity with authentication, authorization, encryption, IAM, RBAC, ACLs, Ping ID, Ping Federate, Ping Radius, and Centrify.
- Preferred experience with configuration management, Infrastructure as Code, Ansible, Terraform, infrastructure rightsizing, and standards development.
- Preferred certifications include ITIL 4 Foundation, SRE Fundamentals, DevOps Foundation, and PSM1.
- Willingness to learn and apply SRE, TDD, and Chaos Engineering concepts and improve client experience and user journeys.
