Responsibilities
- Define long-term technical architecture for the product platform.
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of backend services, APIs, databases, and data pipelines.
- Drive engineering standards, reliability, scalability, monitoring, observability, and automated testing.
- Partner with engineering leadership on technical strategy and roadmap planning.
- Mentor senior engineers and improve engineering practices across teams.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and research teams to deliver AI-driven features and services.
Requirements
- Typically 10+ years of software engineering experience with exposure to backend and frontend development.
- Strong experience with a backend language such as Python or Node.js; the interview process requires Python.
- Experience designing and consuming APIs, including FastAPI and REST; GraphQL experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with frontend frameworks such as React and Next.js.
- Working knowledge of relational or document databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
- Exposure to AWS, GCP, or Azure and containerized environments using Docker; Kubernetes is a plus.
- Experience with version control, CI/CD pipelines, and basic automated testing.
- Curiosity, eagerness to learn, and experience with data-heavy systems, scientific tooling, ML/AI-adjacent platforms, startups, or small teams are valued.
