Base Salary
$141k - $218k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable backend services and APIs for manufacturing workflows, financial systems, and operational tools.
- Architect event-driven systems, integrations, and data pipelines connecting internal services, manufacturing equipment, and operational intelligence.
- Own backend systems end to end, including requirements discovery, design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
- Lead technical design discussions, mentor engineers, and establish patterns and tooling for reliable services.
- Collaborate with hardware, operations, manufacturing, and quality teams across time zones and disciplines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of software engineering experience building and operating production systems.
- Advanced hands-on experience with Python and scalable application development.
- Strong understanding of Docker and containerized development workflows.
- Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and maintainable web service and system architecture design.
- Deep experience with event-driven architecture, ideally using Kafka.
- Experience moving prototypes into reliable production systems with debugging, testing, and observability practices.
- Clear communication and demonstrated cross-disciplinary collaboration.
- Preferred experience with GitHub-based deployment automation and CI/CD workflows.
- Preferred database experience with PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB, including query optimization and data management at scale.
- Preferred experience with GraphQL or other modern API patterns.
- Familiarity with cloud storage platforms and distributed file systems.
- Preferred production or manufacturing experience, hardware or real-time data integrations, and AI-assisted development or LLM-based tooling experience.
