Responsibilities
- Own the technical strategy, architecture, and delivery of the cloud platform across platform engineering, DevOps, SRE, security, and developer experience.
- Drive platform reliability, scalability, security, cost efficiency, and high availability across all environments.
- Design and implement reusable platform components and integration patterns for multiple healthcare systems.
- Lead technical direction and cross-team alignment for cloud platform components, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and incident response.
- Partner with architecture, DevOps, SRE, security, product, and solutions architecture teams to deliver cohesive platform solutions.
- Serve as the senior escalation point for infrastructure and platform incidents.
- Establish frameworks for AI governance, compliance, observability, decision and output traceability, auditability, and production reliability.
- Ensure platform components and integrations comply with healthcare security and privacy regulations and industry data security practices.
- Assist with information security activities, team information-security competency, security policy implementation, and issue reporting.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software platform and infrastructure engineering experience, including 2+ years at Staff or Principal level or equivalent impact.
- Deep expertise in AWS, including ECS, Lambda, CloudFormation or Terraform, IAM, networking, and security controls.
- Hands-on experience with containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and GitOps workflows using tools such as GitHub Actions or ArgoCD.
- Production ownership of SRE-level reliability, including SLOs, SLIs, incident management, runbooks, and post-mortems.
- Expertise with observability stacks such as Datadog, CloudWatch, ELK, or Kibana.
- Strong understanding of security engineering, secrets management, zero-trust networking, Okta, IAM policies, and encryption at rest and in transit.
- Experience designing and building platforms involving data processing, data warehousing, and integrated ML tooling.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with product, operations, architecture, DevOps, SRE, security, and solutions architecture teams.
- Knowledge of information security practices and experience implementing and maintaining security policies and procedures.
- Preferred experience in healthcare, fintech, or another regulated industry, with knowledge of HIPAA, SOC 2, or HITRUST.
- Preferred experience with data pipelines and ETL orchestration using Step Functions, Glue, or Airflow.
- Platform-as-a-product, developer experience, internal tooling, self-service platform, open-source infrastructure, or technical writing experience is preferred.
