Responsibilities
- Drive platform reliability, scalability, security, and cost efficiency across all environments.
- Set technical direction and architecture for cloud platform components, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and incident response.
- Design and implement reusable platform components and integration patterns that scale across healthcare systems.
- Partner with Architecture, DevOps, SRE, Security, product, and solutions architecture teams to deliver cohesive platform solutions.
- Serve as the senior escalation point for infrastructure and platform incidents.
- Establish frameworks for AI governance and compliance, system observability, and traceability of decisions and outputs.
- Ensure platform components and integrations meet healthcare security, privacy, auditability, reliability, and compliance expectations.
- Assist with information security activities, security policy implementation, team competency, maintenance processes, and issue reporting.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software platform and infrastructure engineering experience, including 2+ years at Staff or Principal level or equivalent impact.
- Deep expertise in AWS, including ECS, Lambda, CloudFormation or Terraform, IAM, networking, and security controls.
- Hands-on experience with containerization, CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or similar tools, and GitOps workflows.
- Experience owning SRE-level reliability, including SLOs, SLIs, incident management, runbooks, and post-mortems.
- Expertise with observability stacks such as Datadog, CloudWatch, ELK, or Kibana.
- Strong understanding of security engineering principles, secrets management, zero-trust networking, Okta, IAM policies, and encryption at rest and in transit.
- Experience designing and building platforms, data processing, data warehousing, and integrated ML tooling.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience in healthcare, fintech, or another regulated industry and knowledge of HIPAA, SOC 2, or HITRUST are preferred.
- Experience with data pipelines and ETL orchestration using Step Functions, Glue, or Airflow is preferred.
- Platform-as-a-product, developer experience, internal tooling, self-service platform, open-source infrastructure, or technical writing experience is preferred.
