Responsibilities
- Lead architecture, development, and maintenance of a delivery framework for migrating websites to WordPress and Gutenberg.
- Contribute to build-scope discussions with developers, project managers, designers, and other stakeholders.
- Integrate third-party APIs and customize WordPress functionality.
- Support existing client websites and document plugins, code, themes, and plugin modifications.
- Develop user-facing features, reusable code, and libraries.
- Optimize applications for accessibility, performance, and scalability.
- Deliver functional, testable code by project deadlines.
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders using Agile methodologies.
- Enhance team expertise through training, exploration, and prospecting.
Requirements
- Senior-level experience developing with WordPress APIs, theme hierarchy, and custom Gutenberg blocks.
- AEM experience or certification is required.
- Experience migrating websites to WordPress and Gutenberg is highly desired.
- Proficiency with WordPress theme and block accessibility, HTML5, CSS3, Sass, JavaScript, jQuery, React, ES6+, and MySQL.
- Strong understanding of version-control tools such as Git.
- Proficiency with Jira, Slack, and modern team and project management tools.
- Excellent written, oral, and documentation skills.
- Knowledge of frontend testing and tooling and npm task runners such as Webpack.
- Understanding of Python classes and development.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance are required.
- WP-CLI, WP VIP, Docker, WP VIP CLI, and Python experience for data extraction and migration to Gutenberg are bonus qualifications.
