Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain custom ABAP programs, enhancements, and extensions on SAP S/4HANA and ECC.
- Build and expose OData V2/V4 services and SAP APIs for internal, external, third-party, and Fiori/UI5 integrations.
- Develop managed and unmanaged RAP business objects, behavior definitions, behavior implementations, projection views, and RAP-based applications.
- Implement CDS Views with annotations for OData exposure, analytics, UI, and transactional applications.
- Design SAP-to-SAP and SAP-to-non-SAP API and integration strategies with functional consultants and integration teams.
- Support SAP BTP extension projects, including side-by-side extensibility, CAP model basics, SAP Integration Suite, and BTP ABAP Environment.
- Conduct code reviews, unit testing, performance tuning, requirement gathering, technical design, and documentation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues involving APIs, OData services, and custom developments.
- Follow ABAP standards, clean-core methodology, and SAP best practices.
Requirements
- 6–8 years of overall ABAP development experience, including OOP ABAP, Enhancement Framework, BAdIs, and User Exits.
- Strong hands-on experience developing SEGW- or RAP-based OData services and consuming or exposing SAP APIs.
- Solid experience with RAP behavior definitions, behavior implementations, projection views, and RAP-based Fiori Elements apps.
- Proficiency developing CDS Views with annotations for UI, analytics, and OData exposure.
- Working knowledge of SAP BTP, including ABAP Environment (Steampunk), SAP Integration Suite, or side-by-side extension concepts.
- Familiarity with SAP Gateway, API Management, IDocs, RFCs, Web Services, REST, and SOAP.
- Understanding of SAP S/4HANA architecture and clean-core extensibility principles.
- Experience with Git-based version control and ADT (ABAP Development Tools in Eclipse) is a plus.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery methods is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, independence, and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
