Base Salary

$86k - $138k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Own complex Android features from discovery through implementation, release, and post-release monitoring.
  • Set technical direction for Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Android architecture, modularization, networking, persistence, and dependency management.
  • Design and implement accessible, responsive Android interfaces with product, design, and research partners.
  • Improve unit, integration, UI, and end-to-end testing, observability, performance, crash health, security, privacy, and release confidence.
  • Partner with backend and platform teams on API contracts, offline behavior, authentication, experimentation, analytics, and mobile delivery.
  • Collaborate with iOS engineers on shared product behavior, mobile standards, and platform tradeoffs.
  • Review code, mentor engineers, improve team practices, and participate in planning, estimation, incident response, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • At least five years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or nine years with a high school diploma.
  • Advanced Kotlin skills and strong knowledge of Android SDK fundamentals, Jetpack libraries, coroutines, and reactive state management.
  • Production experience with Jetpack Compose, including state, navigation, performance, testing, and interoperability with Views.
  • Experience making architecture decisions, evolving mature codebases, working with REST or GraphQL APIs, local persistence, background work, authentication, analytics, and push notifications.
  • Experience shipping through Google Play, managing staged rollouts, and responding to production issues.
  • Strong testing, debugging, communication, technical design, and telemetry-driven decision-making skills.
  • Hands-on experience reading and making scoped changes in Swift, SwiftUI, or UIKit, with familiarity with Xcode, the iOS lifecycle, navigation, concurrency, testing, code signing, and App Store release workflows.
  • A record of mentoring others and improving team practices through influence and example.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Preferred qualifications include six or more years of professional software engineering experience, production Android ownership, mobile CI/CD and release tooling experience, Kotlin Multiplatform knowledge, and experience with mobile security, privacy, accessibility, threat modeling, and major mobile migrations.

Benefits

  • Target base salary range is $86,000–$138,000 annually, with possible overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonus eligibility.
