Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of AI-powered product experiences for Notebooks and adjacent surfaces.
- Develop trustworthy and explainable systems combining deterministic product capabilities with LLM-powered experiences.
- Partner with Product to translate customer problems, adoption signals, and roadmap goals into technical decisions and iterations.
- Build experiences that enable Datadog capabilities to operate within third-party AI platforms, agents, and conversational environments.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship while helping establish AI engineering best practices.
- Own and operate reliable backend services in the critical path of customer deployments and participate in on-call support.
Requirements
- 6+ years of relevant engineering experience.
- Experience with Go, Python, or similar systems programming languages.
- Hands-on experience delivering production AI-powered products and customer-facing experiences using LLM technologies.
- Strong product mindset with the ability to connect technical decisions to customer outcomes and business impact.
- Experience building reliable systems that manage model non-determinism through evaluation frameworks, testing strategies, and operational excellence.
