Base Salary
$144k - $194k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build systems that determine why vulnerabilities persist across the AWS host fleet and drive automatic remediation.
- Develop detection that identifies hosts unreached by patching automation and routes findings to owning teams.
- Prototype against fleet-scale security data and take successful solutions into production.
- Own production services, including on-call, alarming, and operational metrics.
- Partner with AWS service teams and security platform teams to reduce the fleet’s attack surface.
- Set engineering practices and own the systems built for the growing team.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 2 years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience programming in at least one software programming language.
- Preferred: at least 3 years covering the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: experience designing and owning systems consumed by other teams, including data models and interface contracts.
- Preferred: experience operating production systems with on-call, alarming, and operational metrics.
- Preferred: experience building production data-intensive systems with distributed processing frameworks such as Spark, EMR, or Glue.
- Preferred: experience with data lakes or warehouse services such as Iceberg, Athena, or Redshift and strong SQL skills on large datasets.
- Preferred: experience taking a prototype to a production service.
- Preferred: interest in or exposure to security engineering, vulnerability management, or large-scale fleet operations.
