Base Salary
$180k - $368k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, deploy, and maintain resilient and scalable production systems for retail customers.
- Define and drive long-term technical architecture and strategy across the organization.
- Design forward-looking solutions, evaluate tradeoffs, and communicate technical direction.
- Sponsor and mentor Staff and Senior Staff engineers.
- Improve engineering productivity and act as a force multiplier across the team.
- Diagnose performance bottlenecks and implement optimizations.
- Engage directly with customers, including visiting stores and speaking with operators to understand their workflows.
Requirements
- 9+ years of experience building and shipping production software to customers.
- Experience with Java, Kotlin, or other object-oriented programming languages.
- Ability to articulate sophisticated project roadmaps and empower engineering cohorts to execute them.
- Experience driving initiatives with a startup mindset and navigating ambiguity.
- Ability to establish trusted technical authority and make decisions balancing immediate wins with long-term strategy.

Benefits
- Base salary ranges from $180,000 to $368,000 USD depending on geographic pay zone, skills, experience, and location, excluding additional compensation components.
- Total rewards include equity, benefits, and potentially overtime and bonus or commission compensation if eligible.
- Work arrangement options include remote work in the US or hybrid work in Boston and New York, with regional in-office expectations.
