Responsibilities
- Explore research ideas applying AI/ML to VLSI design and implementation automation.
- Develop prototype solutions and evaluate AI/ML techniques for NXP designs and real-world optimization problems.
- Pilot and develop automation on actual SoC and IP designs to improve power, performance, area, and quality of results.
- Collaborate with AI/ML experts, academic research communities, architecture teams, IP and SoC designers, verification teams, and implementation teams.
- Prescribe methods and requirements for VLSI CAD software tools and features.
- Coordinate and drive cross-functional digital transformation initiatives across multiple engineering sites.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, with a strong software development background.
- At least 5 years of experience with AI and ML techniques, including LLMs, CNNs, RNNs, and graph neural networks, applied to real-world optimization problems.
- Hands-on programming experience with Python and C++.
- Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, software development, and optimization problems.
- Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux, revision control, software development, and debugging tools.
- Strong analytical problem-solving, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
- Preferred: understanding of design, layout, constraints, static timing analysis, low-power and power-aware flows, VLSI CAD methodology, HDL, front-end and physical design flows, EDA tools, DesignSync, Make, Splunk, Jenkins, and LSF.
