Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the technical vision and software architecture for Twilio’s enterprise AI/ML platforms and products.
  • Establish architectural standards, guardrails, best practices, and cross-product technical reviews.
  • Lead complex engineering initiatives and resolve ambiguous technical challenges at enterprise scale.
  • Partner with product, engineering, program management, design, and executive stakeholders across business functions.
  • Mentor senior technical leaders and cultivate a high-performance engineering culture.
  • Present AI Engineering plans and deliverables to executive leadership.
  • Guide technical blueprints across architecture, design, development, deployment, and maintenance.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience designing and scaling distributed systems and platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to set technical vision and strategy at an enterprise or company-wide level.
  • Expertise in system design, reliability, scalability, security, and cost optimization for large-scale architectures.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and resolving highly complex, ambiguous technical problems.
  • Proven record of mentoring senior engineering talent and elevating organizational standards.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, influence, and leadership skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
