Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and operate scalable GraphQL and REST APIs, cloud-native microservices, API contracts, integrations, and reusable backend services.
- Build MCP servers, SDKs, libraries, developer enablement tools, and platforms supporting digital, AI, analytics, and data-product initiatives.
- Implement secure APIs using OAuth2, JWT, OpenID Connect, and enterprise security standards.
- Develop event-driven and asynchronous processing solutions and optimize service performance, scalability, reliability, and resiliency.
- Implement observability, logging, monitoring, and alerting using Splunk, PagerDuty, Honeycomb, and OpenTelemetry.
- Support CI/CD automation, Infrastructure as Code, DevSecOps, automated testing, architecture reviews, code reviews, and engineering standards.
- Integrate backend services with Databricks, AWS Redshift, AWS Glue, and other cloud data platforms.
- Support data-pipeline development, data movement, data modeling, real-time and batch data access, data quality, metadata, and governance integration.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, engineering teams, and data engineers to establish enterprise integration and platform standards.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of relevant work experience, including at least 4 years designing and maintaining data pipelines, ETL processes, and database architectures.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Advanced hands-on proficiency with TypeScript and experience with Node.js and modern backend frameworks.
- Experience designing and developing GraphQL and REST APIs, MCP servers, enterprise-scale API platforms, and microservices.
- Knowledge of API gateways, OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT authentication, event-driven architecture, messaging systems, Git, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
- Experience with AWS cloud services, Infrastructure as Code, and preferably Terraform.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks, quality engineering, observability, monitoring, logging, and Splunk.
- Experience with data pipelines, data modeling, Databricks, AWS Redshift, AWS Glue, Apache Spark, and real-time and batch data processing.
- Preferred experience includes supporting AI and machine-learning solutions, agentic AI, AI-assisted development workflows, regulated enterprise environments, and high-volume production systems.
