Principal Software Engineer, Site Reliability (Agentforce Ops)

Responsibilities
- Own the reliability roadmap for major product areas and help transition systems to highly available, global-scale enterprise solutions.
- Provide principal-level technical leadership and guide the team’s technical architecture and direction.
- Mentor LMTS and SMTS engineers through formal and informal technical leadership.
- Maintain and evolve infrastructure-as-code and the infrastructure-as-plugins model.
- Scale AI/ML infrastructure, GPU resources, and data pipelines for real-time supply chain insights.
- Build observability tooling, telemetry, monitoring, and alerting that improve production excellence and prevent incidents.
- Perform performance engineering across SQL, APIs, and cross-service communication.
- Use AI development tools to automate operational tasks and accelerate infrastructure delivery.
- Independently identify issues and own solutions through final implementation while collaborating with senior stakeholders.
Requirements
- 9+ years of experience in SRE, production engineering, or backend engineering with a strong focus on operations and scale.
- Demonstrated experience scaling a product through a high-growth phase and addressing related technical debt and architectural changes.
- Expertise writing production-grade code in Golang, TypeScript, or Python.
- Strong proficiency with Kubernetes, Terraform or OpenTofu, and AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience instrumenting applications and platforms with SLO-based monitoring and alerting.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems and debugging interactions among microservices, databases, and AI agents.
- Experience leading initiatives and collaborating within a senior team of Principal engineers.
- Demonstrated ability to use modern AI development tools to improve engineering speed and reliability.
- Preferred M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred experience with PostgreSQL at scale, including partitioning, indexing, and query tuning.
- Preferred hands-on experience with Temporal workflow reliability and Istio service meshes.
- Preferred breadth across tracing, profiling, monitoring, logging, and dashboard creation.
- Preferred experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and PagerDuty.
- Preferred experience implementing Elasticsearch or Typesense search indexing.
- Familiarity with Salesforce infrastructure, Hyperforce, or Data Cloud is a plus.
