Base Salary
$177k - $365k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the long-term technical strategy and vision for service configuration and coordination infrastructure.
- Standardize validation, staged rollouts, governance, and paved paths for feature flags, ML settings, and experiments.
- Lead migrations from legacy substrates to modern platforms and establish scalable onboarding patterns.
- Architect high-performance control-plane APIs and diagnostic interfaces for operators and automated assistants.
- Integrate coordination stacks with deployment and multi-region systems while improving service discovery and reducing engineering toil.
- Partner with Traffic, Compute, Observability, Cloud Architecture, and other teams to align technical strategies and execution.
- Use AI-enabled workflows for design synthesis, analysis, and documentation while maintaining data validation, peer review, and human accountability.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience in high-scale infrastructure and distributed environments.
- Track record architecting or managing business-critical backend substrates in production.
- Expertise leading cross-functional technical strategies for control-plane systems such as experiments, feature flags, or ML configuration.
- Advanced knowledge of distributed coordination, consistency models, failure domains, and resilient abstractions.
- Experience aligning configuration surfaces with deployment pipelines and orchestration frameworks such as infrastructure-as-code or CI/CD.
- Experience elevating senior engineering talent and steering parallel workstreams toward a unified technical vision.
- Ability to use AI-enabled workflows while ensuring rigorous validation, metric-driven verification, and peer review.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong ownership, professional integrity, data-protection practices, and commitment to human-in-the-loop oversight.
