Responsibilities
- Set the technical direction, architecture, and engineering standards for a newly forming Experience squad.
- Design API v3 and service boundaries supporting shared identity, permissions, and navigation across four product areas.
- Build SSO, tenancy, permissions, and cross-product access controls.
- Deliver and operate a commercially important demo environment as a real product surface.
- Integrate IFS Intelligence and IFS Cloud, including embedding capabilities enabled by Project Oliver.
- Define agent placement, guardrails, observability, and cost controls for safe agentic product behavior.
- Own production reliability, performance, cost, observability, code review standards, and pager responsibilities.
- Remain hands-on across backend, platform, and fullstack work, including reviewing React and Django code.
- Provide technical guidance through design reviews, pairing, feedback, and communication with product and architecture leadership.
Requirements
- Around eight years or more building and running production software.
- Deep experience with Python, Django REST API design, data modelling, and service reliability.
- Experience setting technical direction for a team and documenting, defending, and revising architectural decisions.
- Strong understanding of performance, cost management, observability, and production operations.
- Fullstack capability with comfort in React and the ability to raise frontend engineering standards.
- Practical experience building with Cursor and Claude and evaluating AI-generated output.
- Ability to work effectively through ambiguity and provide clear technical judgment.
- Preferred experience with multi-tenant enterprise SaaS, SSO or identity, ERP integrations, LLM agent orchestration, RAG, production evaluations, shipped agents, simulation or scenario modelling, BigQuery, dbt, Pub/Sub, GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform, logistics, supply chain, or freight.
