Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of the core quantum measurement software framework.
- Translate complex experimental requirements into robust, scalable software solutions with R&D and engineering teams.
- Define and document architecture for instrument control, high-throughput data storage, and measurement orchestration.
- Drive code reviews, design discussions, automated testing, and CI/CD practices.
- Own the full software lifecycle for secure, scalable solutions supporting quantum R&D.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote strong code quality and system design practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building robust backend systems or data-intensive applications.
- Strong working knowledge of Python or willingness to learn the Python ecosystem.
- Familiarity with message brokers such as RabbitMQ, ZeroMQ, or Kafka.
- Experience with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL, and tools such as SQLAlchemy.
- Experience with Prefect or Airflow is preferred.
- A background in physics, engineering, or another quantitative field is preferred.
- Ability to learn new languages, frameworks, and APIs and collaborate clearly in English.
