Base Salary
$185k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and evolve the architecture of Dorsia’s backend systems.
- Lead architectural decisions around serverless, containerized, and event-driven approaches.
- Own database architecture including schema design and query performance.
- Define communication patterns for services and ensure graceful system degradation under load.
- Drive API design across internal and external surfaces.
- Write production-grade TypeScript and PHP across the application stack.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and architectural debt.
- Champion observability across the application layer.
- Collaborate with the Product Engineering team to scope new features.
- Work with the Platform Engineering team to align application requirements with cloud infrastructure.
- Elevate the team through documentation, code reviews, and technical mentorship.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 6-8 years of backend engineering experience, with 1-2 years in a senior or staff role.
- Proven track record designing and scaling backend systems in production.
- Experience launching and testing software products.
- Deep fluency in TypeScript and PHP, database systems, and cloud environments.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, complex environment.
- Genuine interest in the Dorsia product and member experience.
