Responsibilities

  • Understand and improve the MongoDB query engine.
  • Contribute high-quality C++ code and participate in code reviews.
  • Design, implement, test, and support query performance, robustness, query language, diagnostics, and product integration features.
  • Deliver complex functionality, fix bugs, lead development of major features, and mentor new engineers.
  • Collaborate constructively with peers to deliver excellent technical solutions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of systems programming experience.
  • Hands-on experience building industrial-strength software.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and software design and architecture.
  • Experience working with large codebases, preferably in C++, C, Rust, or a similar compiled language.
  • B.Sc. in Computer Science or a similar field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with databases and data management systems is a plus but not required.
  • Hands-on experience or an M.Sc./Ph.D. in database query engines is a plus.
