Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain client-side applications for an instant messaging platform with a focus on Android.
- Build core messaging features such as real-time chat, group chat, and media messaging.
- Participate in client-side architecture design to ensure consistent UX across platforms.
- Use AI-powered tools to support cross-stack frontend development.
- Integrate RESTful APIs and real-time communication protocols.
- Handle local storage and offline-first experience for messaging.
- Optimize client performance for speed, memory, and network efficiency.
- Collaborate with backend teams on API design and production issues.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical design decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 1-3+ years of experience for Engineer; 3-5+ years for Senior Engineer.
- Solid production experience in Android development using Kotlin and/or Java.
- Good understanding of Android SDK, Jetpack components, and modern client-side architecture.
- Ability to use AI-powered development tools for cross-stack frontend development.
- Familiarity with real-time communication protocols like WebSocket and MQTT.
- Understanding of messaging concepts such as message delivery and offline support.
- Good understanding of client-side performance optimization and security best practices.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile processes.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.
