Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs for KYC verification, identity authentication, and compliance workflows.
- Lead architecture and implementation of distributed systems capable of processing millions of global verification requests.
- Build and optimize risk assessment pipelines and case management systems.
- Develop and maintain internal tooling and dashboards using React and TypeScript when needed.
- Integrate RESTful APIs and microservices with third-party KYC/AML vendors and internal data sources.
- Contribute to technical architecture decisions involving backend systems, data processing, AI integration, and security.
- Improve reliability, performance, observability, automation, engineering efficiency, and developer experience.
- Write maintainable, well-tested code and conduct code reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of professional software development experience with a strong backend focus.
- Backend development experience with Java and Spring Boot, Go, or similar technologies.
- Experience integrating AI/ML models or LLM-powered tools into production systems, including model serving, inference pipelines, or AI-assisted automation workflows.
- Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices at scale.
- Understanding of relational databases, caching technologies, message queues, and distributed systems.
- Bilingual English/Mandarin communication skills are required for coordinating with overseas partners and stakeholders.
