Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own backend services, APIs, and data integrations for coupon merchandising.
- Implement and iterate on experiments in collaboration with Product and Data Science teams.
- Identify and execute optimizations for reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to define roadmaps and communicate tradeoffs.
- Uphold high engineering standards through code reviews and documentation.
- Partner with frontend and mobile engineers to deliver cohesive user experiences.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience focused on backend development.
- Proficiency in at least one modern backend language and framework.
- Hands-on experience designing and operating RESTful or gRPC APIs and microservices.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases and ability to optimize SQL.
- Experience collaborating with Product and Data Science to build data-informed features.
- Experience deploying services on public cloud platforms and working with containers.
- Demonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable code and strong debugging skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
