Responsibilities
- Respond to customer product inquiries by telephone and email.
- Resolve customer concerns related to installation, operation, maintenance, product application, and compatibility.
- Troubleshoot hardware equipment and software applications and recommend corrective actions.
- Recreate customer issues in a dedicated lab environment.
- Document customer communications and recurring technical issues to support product quality and development programs.
- Work directly with customers and software and hardware development teams.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of networking products, protocols, and the networking industry.
- 1–5 years of hands-on experience designing, deploying, configuring, supporting, troubleshooting, debugging, or administering network protocols and technologies.
- Experience with networking technologies including AAA/TACACS, ACL, ARP, BGP, DHCP, Ethernet, Flow Control, ICMP, IGMP, IPv4, IPv6, LACP, LLDP, MPLS, NAT, OpenFlow, OSPF, PIM, QoS, RIP, sFlow, SNMP, STP/RSTP/MST, VARP/VRRP, VLAN, and VRF.
- Experience with troubleshooting tools such as IXIA, tcpdump, and Wireshark or similar packet-generation and analysis tools is highly desired.
- Strong comfort level with Linux is highly desired.
- Familiarity with programming or scripting in C++, Java, Python, Perl, JavaScript, or shell is a plus.
