Responsibilities
- Design and build backend services and reusable libraries for streaming and batch ingestion, metadata-driven pipelines, and API integrations.
- Implement role-based access control, authentication, and enterprise entitlement integrations.
- Build and maintain logging, metrics, traces, alerting, and operational dashboards supporting service-level agreements.
- Collaborate with architects on scalable and extensible designs using open standards.
- Drive code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, and production-readiness practices.
- Ensure platform services meet enterprise security, governance, and compliance requirements.
- Participate in on-call and major incident management and troubleshoot production issues.
Requirements
- Strong programming skills in Python and Java are required.
- Knowledge of Rust is a bonus.
- Strong understanding of SQL optimization, execution, and large-scale analytics is required.
- Deep understanding of distributed computing and hyperscale systems is required.
- Experience building production-grade services in cloud environments is required.
- AWS, GCP, and/or Azure experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with streaming pipelines and Kafka is preferred.
- Understanding of data modeling and data product design is required.
- Experience with CI/CD, containers, and Kubernetes is required.
- A financial or data platform background is preferred but not required.
