Responsibilities
- Build and integrate system software to orchestrate workloads across high-performance data center systems.
- Develop and maintain runtime libraries, frameworks, daemons, and other low-level system components.
- Optimize operating system performance, scalability, and reliability for large-scale distributed systems.
- Adapt, tailor, and scale software for a novel compute platform and future cloud architecture.
- Collaborate with teams across Apple on hardware acceleration, machine learning, and high-performance computing workloads.
- Work with service orchestration, cloud infrastructure, and AI workload orchestration technologies.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or computer engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in one of C, C++, Objective-C, or Swift.
- Strong knowledge of operating system architecture and low-level system components.
- Understanding of Linux or Apple OS system programming, including process management, IPC, signals, and daemon lifecycle.
- Knowledge of software architecture, APIs, and high-performance extensible software.
- Preferred experience with init systems such as systemd, launchd, or upstart and with service orchestration.
- Preferred knowledge of distributed systems, cloud computing, large-scale data center infrastructure, Docker, Kubernetes, and AI workload orchestration.
- Preferred experience with Swift, Objective-C, Apple development tools, or AI accelerators such as GPUs, TPUs, and ASICs.
