Responsibilities

  • Design, program, maintain, and improve automated testing solutions, scripts, and supporting frameworks.
  • Analyze product, system, and software requirements and create automated tests for functional, performance, and system-level verification.
  • Execute automated test suites, evaluate results, investigate failures, and distinguish product defects from environmental or script-related issues.
  • Document and communicate defects, test outcomes, recommendations, and automation-related information.
  • Develop test cases, protocols, automated verification procedures, and requirements-to-risk-to-verification traceability documentation.
  • Support design verification and validation activities and perform manual testing when automation is not practical.
  • Participate in automation architecture and design reviews, code reviews, automation strategy, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor Engineer I and Engineer II team members and promote automation best practices and coding standards.
  • Collaborate with Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Quality, and Product Management teams to resolve issues and meet regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer, Systems Engineer, Test Automation Engineer, Test Engineer, or related technical professional.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience developing and maintaining automated test solutions.
  • Experience in regulated industries, preferably medical devices, healthcare, or life sciences.
  • Experience across the product development lifecycle, including verification and validation activities.
  • Strong object-oriented programming experience, with C# preferred.
  • Experience with automation tools such as Ranorex or equivalent platforms.
  • Understanding of software testing methodologies, verification principles, requirements management, defect tracking, configuration management, and software V&V processes.
  • Experience writing test cases, protocols, and traceability documentation.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues, identify root causes, and apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Agile development experience and ISTQB certification are advantages.
