Base Salary
$147k - $224k/yr
Responsibilities
- Write and test software integrating sensors and embedded processors into aircraft, payloads, software-defined radios, and robotic systems.
- Design and implement prototype and production software using established engineering tools and practices.
- Lead development of system requirements, system test plans, diagnostic tools, validation testing, rapid prototypes, and proof-of-concept demonstrations.
- Assist with hardware selection and recommend system processing, memory, and storage requirements.
- Support software integration, transition to production, certification, design reviews, and multidisciplinary development teams.
- Estimate development effort and scope work with project and program management to meet schedule and budget constraints.
- Develop drivers and embedded Linux software for Linux/ARM systems and support real-time operating system development.
- Contribute to software quality, configuration control, automated testing, and the organization's software development process.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- 12–15 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency with Python, C, C++11, C++ STL, and/or OpenCL, plus experience troubleshooting systems.
- Knowledge of Visual Studio, Eclipse or a similar IDE, defect tracking tools, common hardware protocols, object-oriented programming, and multithreaded design.
- Experience with test-driven development, unit testing, automated build environments, and automated test and deployment.
- Experience with STM32 processors, RTOS systems such as µC/OS and FreeRTOS, Video4Linux, Embedded Linux, and Linux/ARM driver development.
- Electronics knowledge, laboratory equipment experience, and strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- U.S. citizenship is required, and the candidate must presently hold or be capable of obtaining a U.S. security clearance.
- Ability to travel periodically to approved flying locations and work in field-test environments, including irregular hours, weekends, and some holidays when needed.
