Base Salary
$190k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own secure, scalable cloud infrastructure using reusable IaC modules and paved-road patterns.
- Own and improve Postgres, RDS/Aurora, Snowflake, and related data infrastructure, including high availability, backups, disaster recovery, and migrations.
- Build and maintain a self-service developer platform with CI/CD, testing, and local and ephemeral environments.
- Establish observability standards covering monitoring, alerting, and tracing with Datadog.
- Improve engineering standards for maintainability, performance, reliability, code quality, and security through standards, code review, and mentorship.
- Partner with product teams to turn engineering friction into platform capabilities and strengthen IAM, network security, and PHI handling in HIPAA and SOC 2 environments.
- Use AI-native development tools such as Claude Code to design, build, review, and operate systems with appropriate validation and oversight.
Requirements
- 6+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in DevOps, platform engineering, or cloud infrastructure.
- Experience building operational maturity, standards, and scalable systems rather than only maintaining existing infrastructure.
- Ability to work across cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, developer tooling, data infrastructure, and application support.
- Strong experience with AWS, including Fargate, Lambda, Step Functions, and related services; Terraform; Python; Postgres; RDS/Aurora; DynamoDB; Snowflake or a similar cloud data platform; Docker; and workflow orchestration tools.
- Experience with Temporal, Airflow, or similar workflow orchestration tools, as well as Datadog, GitHub, and GitHub Actions.
- Familiarity with HIPAA and SOC 2 compliance processes and experience working in regulated environments such as healthcare or finance.
- Understanding of security and sensitive-data requirements, including high availability, backups, disaster recovery, and migrations.
