Responsibilities
- Develop cloud-native platform services across all three major cloud environments.
- Administer NASA cloud networks and manage deployment requests for commercial and cloud-native applications.
- Manage production Kubernetes offerings and integrate managed AI and data services with Kubernetes applications.
- Develop enterprise-grade, multi-tenant platform services and identify opportunities for abstraction.
- Use Terraform or OpenTofu for infrastructure automation and contribute to CI/CD and observability practices.
- Write quality code, conduct engaged peer code reviews, and collaborate with NASA security and compliance teams.
- Support NASA human spaceflight missions including Orion, Lunar Gateway, and Artemis.
Requirements
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a related area.
- Normally requires 15 years of experience in the field or a related area.
- Strong production experience with Kubernetes and proficiency managing GitLab.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline tools, observability and monitoring tools, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Extensive Linux experience; Windows familiarity is preferred but not required.
- Expertise in at least one programming language, with Go and Python preferred.
- Experience with Python and SQL; R and machine learning model lifecycle management are preferred.
- Experience architecting and building cloud-native applications and owning full project lifecycles is preferred.
- Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation; proof of U.S. citizenship or permanent residency may be required.
