Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of low-latency, high-throughput IPC messaging middleware and runtime execution engines for onboard systems.
  • Own build infrastructure, toolchains, compiler execution strategies, ccatch, and distributed build caching to improve developer velocity and deployment pipelines.
  • Architect deterministic simulation platforms such as ezsim and automated post-mortem diagnostic toolchains for simulator crash triage, core-dump analysis, and fault isolation.
  • Drive performance profiling, memory optimization, and latency reductions across the autonomous-driving software stack on embedded hardware.
  • Serve as an infrastructure domain expert for onboard teams and guide software design for efficiency, scalability, flexibility, and reliability.
  • Improve internal development tools, diagnostic systems, and engineering workflows while maintaining runtime stability and system simplicity.
  • Mentor engineers, establish engineering standards, lead technical design reviews, and define foundational architecture guidelines across teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
  • 6–10+ years of software engineering experience designing, architecting, and maintaining complex real-time systems, Linux systems infrastructure, or autonomous-driving platforms in C++.
  • Proven experience providing technical leadership, designing system architecture, and delivering complex multi-team engineering initiatives from inception through production deployment.
  • Expert understanding of C++, system programming, multithreading, concurrency models, and low-latency IPC or middleware architectures.
  • Deep knowledge of compiler internals including Clang, GCC, and LLVM; build systems including Bazel and CMake; and compilation optimization tools such as ccatch.
  • Ability to debug system-level faults, kernel and user-space crashes, memory corruption, and race conditions.
  • Preferred experience with simulation execution platforms, evaluation frameworks, and automated crash-triage pipelines for robotics or autonomous driving.
  • Preferred expertise in embedded systems, cross-compilation targets such as QNX, Linux RT, and NVIDIA Orin, and hardware-acceleration integrations.
  • Preferred experience with low-level systems profiling using tools such as eBPF and gperf, customized memory allocators, or custom IPC protocol design.
  • Preferred experience building developer-productivity tools, quantitative software-evaluation metrics, and root-cause analysis systems in complex robotic environments.

Benefits

  • Full-time position with bonus, equity, and benefits.
