Base Salary
$120k - $135k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop tools for mission operators and climate scientists to achieve mission success.
- Support payload operators and scientists in mission operations.
- Define interfaces between ground systems, spacecraft buses, payloads, and other system components.
- Work with DevOps and IT teams on environments, deployment strategies, and security measures.
- Develop and operate production-quality, fault-tolerant software for a commercial space-weather constellation.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience building production software.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience developing fault-tolerant, production-quality software.
- Understanding of distributed systems architecture.
- Intermediate or advanced Python knowledge, including at least 2 years of experience.
- Experience with REST API design, implementation, and frameworks such as aiohttp and Flask.
- Experience with data modeling, databases, Python interfaces, SQL, NoSQL, and/or time-series databases, especially MongoDB and InfluxDB.
- Knowledge of communication protocols and quality-assurance practices using tools such as pytest and mocker.
- Experience with web applications using TypeScript, React, HTML, and CSS.
- Experience with AWS infrastructure, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- AI-assisted development experience for planning, code generation, and debugging.
- Preferred exposure to aerospace systems, satellite telemetry processing, mission planning, resource deconfliction, security best practices, Argo Workflows/Events, asynchronous I/O, C/C++, GCP, Azure, scientific computing, data visualization, and visualization platforms or graphics libraries.
