Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain custom applications, programmatic API integrations, webhooks, and middleware connecting Workday HCM with Greenhouse, Qualtrics, Docebo, Slack, and internal platforms.
- Build custom app extensions and tailored UI/UX workflows using Workday Extend, Python frameworks, and low-code/no-code platforms.
- Research, prototype, and deploy automated workflows and custom AI agents to eliminate manual processes and technical debt.
- Design application architectures with strict access controls, data security, GDPR compliance, privacy, and governance requirements.
- Establish software engineering practices, API specifications, and maintainable technical documentation.
- Collaborate with People Technology, Data Engineering, Security, and HR stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software development, application engineering, or integration engineering experience in an international environment.
- Strong hands-on proficiency in Python, FastAPI or Flask, and web technology fundamentals including JSON, webhooks, OAuth, and GraphQL.
- Experience with integration platforms, iPaaS, event-driven architectures, or middleware tools.
- Hands-on experience with or familiarity with enterprise SaaS platforms such as Workday APIs, Workday Extend, Workday Studio, or similar cloud ecosystems.
- In-depth knowledge of application security, fine-grained access management, and privacy-by-design principles.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to challenge requirements constructively and deliver scalable architectures.
