Responsibilities
- Develop platform capabilities that help Marketplace engineers build scalable systems.
- Investigate and improve overall system stability and performance.
- Consult engineers on building robust, highly available systems.
- Write code affecting more than 80 million users and handling more than 10 million requests per minute.
- Participate in an on-call rotation every five to six weeks.
Requirements
- Experience building and supporting large-scale applications.
- Strong understanding of how infrastructure and code work together.
- Strong spoken and written English communication skills for complex, cross-cultural collaboration.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn and master new technologies and concepts.
- Familiarity with and deep knowledge of relevant Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Structures, and Algorithms concepts depending on seniority level.
- Motivation to solve complex engineering problems requiring deep technical understanding and collaboration.
- Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architecture, performance optimization, and monitoring is advantageous.
