Base Salary
$220k - $275k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop platform firmware including boot ROMs, bootloaders, embedded controllers, BMCs, and accelerator device firmware.
- Implement secure boot, hardware roots of trust, code signing, authenticated and anti-rollback firmware updates, and secure debug.
- Build power-management firmware for power sequencing, PMIC and voltage-rail control, DVFS, and thermal or power protection.
- Develop platform monitoring, sensors, health and RAS capabilities, error logging, telemetry, and management interfaces.
- Create debug infrastructure using JTAG and scan capabilities and support board and post-silicon bring-up.
- Partner with silicon, architecture, hardware, board, and software teams on firmware interfaces, threat modeling, and hardware/software co-design.
- Use assisted tool flows to accelerate development and review.
Requirements
- Strong C and assembly programming skills for embedded or firmware development.
- Experience with bare-metal or RTOS development on ARM or similar platforms.
- At least 5 years of platform or system firmware development experience covering boot, BMC or embedded controllers, and device firmware.
- Hands-on experience with secure boot, hardware roots of trust, code signing, and secure or anti-rollback updates.
- Experience with power-management firmware, including power sequencing, PMICs or voltage regulators, DVFS, and thermal or power telemetry.
- Experience with platform monitoring and debugging, including sensors, telemetry, RAS or error handling, JTAG or debug infrastructure, and management interfaces.
- Ability to work at the hardware/software boundary, read datasheets and specifications, and perform laboratory bring-up using scopes and logic analyzers.
- Preferred qualifications include Rust, OpenBMC, UEFI, coreboot, accelerator or GPU/server firmware, applied cryptography and key management, TEE or TrustZone, side-channel or fault-injection awareness, NIST SP 800-193, FIPS 140-3, and SBOM or supply-chain security experience.
