Java, Python Lead Software Engineering - Risk Data Platform & Strategy

- Design, develop, enhance, and troubleshoot secure, scalable software solutions and data-intensive applications.
- Write high-quality production code, review code written by others, and maintain operational stability.
- Automate remediation of recurring issues and improve application and platform reliability.
- Lead evaluations of architectural designs and technical capabilities from vendors, startups, and internal teams.
- Drive adoption, governance, validation standards, and reuse of approved AI-assisted engineering practices and automation.
- Apply software development lifecycle tools and automation capabilities to improve engineering outcomes at scale.
- Drive software engineering communities of practice and promote emerging technologies.
- Foster a diverse, inclusive, collaborative, and respectful team culture.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining large-scale enterprise data platforms with operational stability.
- Advanced proficiency in one or more of Java, Python, C/C++, or C#.
- Experience with system design, application development, testing, debugging, database query languages, and operational stability.
- Working knowledge of relational databases, NoSQL databases, and data lake architectures.
- Experience with large-scale data processing, microservices, API design, Kafka, Redis, Memcached, observability tools, and orchestration tools.
- Experience leading the effective and responsible use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools, including validation of outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of data sensitivity, secure handling of AI inputs and outputs, resiliency expectations, security controls, automation, continuous delivery, and the software development lifecycle.
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD, application resiliency, security, and practical cloud-native development.
- Preferred experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Spark/PySpark, other big data technologies, cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile technologies.
- Knowledge of financial services industry technology and IT systems is preferred.
