Base Salary
$251k - $310k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead architectural design and hands-on development of advanced agentic AI systems for event triage.
- Build scalable LLM-orchestrated workflows that automate and augment triage for Engineering and SWQOps.
- Design and deploy stateful agentic infrastructure, including long-term memory, semantic routing, and internal tool integrations.
- Embed autonomous agents into the Waymo Driver evaluation lifecycle in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Mentor engineers on agentic development patterns and prompt engineering.
- Define and execute a technical roadmap for ambiguous, multi-agent automation projects.
Requirements
- Typically 8+ years of software engineering experience designing and building large-scale, complex distributed systems.
- Deep expertise in applied LLMs and agentic AI development, including multi-agent systems, reasoning engines, and autonomous workflows.
- Strong proficiency with agent orchestration frameworks and advanced prompt engineering.
- Proven ability to execute technical strategy, influence partner teams, and deliver AI-native applications end to end.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred: Master’s or PhD in Computer Science or a related field with an AI/ML specialization.
- Preferred: Experience building agent tools or plugins, semantic routers, and complex multi-agent collaboration patterns.
- Preferred: Familiarity with autonomous-vehicle simulation, testing, or evaluation.
- Preferred: Proficiency in C++ and Python, with experience building production-grade microservices and pipelines.
- Preferred: Experience with large-scale data processing, knowledge graphs, and distributed systems.
- Preferred: Familiarity with Google’s or Waymo’s internal AI/ML platforms and infrastructure.
